Key Responsibilities
As a veterinarian, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds and performing surgery.
- Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases.
- Advise clients on feeding, housing, behaviour, breeding, hygiene and general animal care.
- Conduct veterinary research related to animal nutrition, healthcare product development and disease prevention and control.
- Provide veterinary services including obstetrics, dentistry and euthanasia.
- Take responsibility for the overall operation of an animal hospital, veterinary clinic or mobile farm service.
- Supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers.
Requirements
Experience
- 3 years to less than 5 years of professional experience.
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or similar animal healthcare setting.
Qualifications and Skills
- Degree in Veterinary Medicine.
- Strong knowledge of animal health and veterinary care.
- Ability to diagnose and treat sick or injured animals.
- Ability to provide a range of veterinary services.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Eligible for professional liability insurance.
Additional Requirements
