Key Responsibilities
As a picker/packer you will be responsible for the following:
- Pick and pack fabricated fencing materials according to job sheets and customer orders.
- Check quantities, colours and specifications before materials leave the warehouse.
- Load trucks, trailers and utes safely and securely for installation crews and customer pick-ups.
- Drive a ute and trailer to deliver materials to work sites when required.
- Collect materials from suppliers as required.
- Receive and unload supplier deliveries.
- Handle returns from the powdercoater.
- Keep stock locations organised.
- Assist with stock counts.
- Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised warehouse and yard.
- Ensure fencing materials are correctly prepared so installation crews receive the required materials.
Requirements
The ideal candidates should have the following:
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse, picking and packing, dispatch or building supplies environment is highly regarded.
- Experience as a picker/packer is beneficial but not stated as mandatory.
Qualifications and Skills
- Current driver’s licence is essential.
- Confident driving with a trailer.
- Ability to reverse and securely load trailers.
- Forklift licence (LF) is highly regarded.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to safely handle long, heavy and awkward materials.
- Good understanding of workplace safety practices.
